Jessica Rabbit...
I was up until around 3 in the morning making Jessica Rabbit Gowns. To all you young people, Jessica Rabbit is the animated red-head knock out that married, well a rabbit. Not just any rabbit, Roger Rabbit. The gown was simple... Just a long strapless sweet-heart neck line with a killer split. It's made out of red press sequins. Press sequins are the little sequins that are glued on the fabric. Great craft fabric, horrible garment fabric. The glue that they use to glue on the sequins likes to gum up the needle of the sewing machine. You have to use Sew Ease- It's a type of silicone that you apply to the needle when sewing...It coats the needle and thread to prevent it from becoming sticky. It doesn't stain your fabric and it's grease-less. Just a little hint for all of those that may need it. (Oh, and use a very sharp needle)
On another note, my son's birthday party is on Sunday. I usually don't buy my son much for Birthdays and Christmas. His family and my family get him enough. No need to spend a fortune if I don't have to. Plus, I get him things all year around. For his birthday this year, I got him some DVD's. My son loves movies. He's more like his mommy every day. I'm a bit of a film buff my self. Well I got him The Incredibles and Polar Express... Yes, I support my local boot-legger, the movies aren't out yet on DVD. My son sees everything in the movies, so hell they got they money out of my family. But my son loves to watch movies at home too, hence the dvd's. The other night, my son, my Asian Butterfly and myself watched the Incredibles. I expected this bubble gum kids movie, but it was definitely an awesome film. It was funny and very action packed. To all those with very young kids, this movie is PG rated, not G. It can be a little too action packed for toddlers. All of a sudden, I became envious. Envious because all we had was Snow White, and they get The Incredibles and Monster's Inc, and Finding Nemo. I mean great quality films that makes almost every adult stay glued to their seats along with their kids. Walt Disney has definitely come a long way.
The imagination of a human never ceases to amaze me. Our minds can take us on wonderful adventures. Someone I know told me that they wouldn't bring a child into this era. Something about the last days and how horrible every thing is. As a mother, I can understand that logic, but I do not regret for one minute bringing my son to this Earth. You never know what impact your child will make on this world. He could be the person that brings world peace, or she could be the one that cures AIDs and ends world hunger. It would've been selfish of me not to bring such a remarkable human being to this earth. It humbles me to think that my son left GOD's side for me. So, I'll take the Disney movies and the toys and all the conversation about school and classmates. Childhood doesn't last that long, I'm determined to make his special.
