French Fries and Gravy...

I don't know if that's a Bmore thang, a Country thang, or just a Ghetto Thang. But that's what I had for lunch. Fries and Gravy. That has always been a throw back thang for me personally. Simply because no matter what, it always hit the spot. Besides, I didn't have a lot of money today and my lunch cost $1.05. You do the math.

On another note... Let's talk people... Talk about struggling... I don't want nobody who hasn't struggled. Nobody who hasn't ate Cereal for dinner or Oodles of Noodles for breakfast. See we struggled when we grew up. We just didn't know it. We thought all cheese came in blocks. And then went I went to college, I struggled even more. But it didn't bother me. Digging for change in the couch to buy a deuce deuce of Ides, only to turn around and drink what was ever left over for breakfast. Hell...Beer is filling yall... I got soooooo tired of Hot Dogs and Tuna Fish and Oodles of Noodles... And all that nasty ass food.

But you know what... It made me stronger to know that sometimes you gotta eat Noodles for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. And I'm grateful, cause it's a lot of folks that don't even have that.

My father once told me that the reason he married his third wife was because he once sent her to the grocery store with $11 and she made a real good meal. She knew how to make something out of nothing. And then had leftovers for breakfast... See that's what I'm talking about.

Whenever I think I don't have, I'm always reminded of what I do have. So when times get hard, well... It's not too far to fall. I've already prepared myself mentally. I'm thinking of all that's happened in this world for the past few years. Hurricanes, Psunamis, horrific natural disasters. And I'm thinking oh dang! What if that was me? Would I be able to survive? Would I be strong enough to make it? I've never had to be homeless... How would I maintain? These are things that all of us need to think about. For most of us are one paycheck away from being homeless. How many of us have savings plans? How many of us have a nest egg? How many of us have good credit?

I will never judge a homeless person again. For you haven't lived their life and you don't know what they did or how they lived and what circumstances landed them in the financial ruin they suffered. Those same circumstances could happen to you and me. And would we be strong enough to be homeless, live out of Garbage Cans, beg for money, be dirty and smelly, and be humble to people who were once on the same level as us?

It's often said that when Jesus walked the Earth, he was never amongst the wealthy or the healthy. He stayed with the beggars, thieves, villians, poor, sick, and meek. How many of us would turn our back on Jesus if he lived on our Earth today? Jesus didn't eat steak every night, eventhough he was a profit and the son of GOD. He lived and died as a poor man. (In financial measures) So who am I to say what I don't have? When it's obvious that I'm very rich. And yeah fries with gravy isn't a full course meal, but to some people it would be the best meal they ever had. Count your blessings people! Until next time, I'm OUT!
